  16. I just received a pair of USR Sportster V.34 PCMCIA cards, 
  17. which I installed in a pair of Dell Latitude notebook PCs.

  19. The trouble is that the Sportster V.34 PCMCIA modems won't
  20. connect to anything at greater than 19.2Kbps.  Using the 
  21. serial port on the PC connected to an external Sportster 
  22. V.34, I get 24.4Kbps most of the time, and even a few 
  23. 26Kbps.  Switch back to the PCMCIA Sportster, and back to 
  24. 19.2Kbps I go, *every* time.  :-(

  26. Same results using either PCMCIA modem in either PC, so I
  27. know it's not a single bad modem.  I also know the analog
  28. line is OK (it's actually an analog port off an ISDN TA,
  29. which works much, much better than the standard analog
  30. circuits in my house).

  32. So, has anyone seen this problem before?  I was going to
  33. buy quite a few of the Sportster PCMCIA cards, but now I
  34. don't think so....
