- Hi!
-
- I just received a pair of USR Sportster V.34 PCMCIA cards,
- which I installed in a pair of Dell Latitude notebook PCs.
-
- The trouble is that the Sportster V.34 PCMCIA modems won't
- connect to anything at greater than 19.2Kbps. Using the
- serial port on the PC connected to an external Sportster
- V.34, I get 24.4Kbps most of the time, and even a few
- 26Kbps. Switch back to the PCMCIA Sportster, and back to
- 19.2Kbps I go, *every* time. :-(
-
- Same results using either PCMCIA modem in either PC, so I
- know it's not a single bad modem. I also know the analog
- line is OK (it's actually an analog port off an ISDN TA,
- which works much, much better than the standard analog
- circuits in my house).
-
- So, has anyone seen this problem before? I was going to
- buy quite a few of the Sportster PCMCIA cards, but now I
- don't think so....
-
- TIA,
- Steve
